Matt joined Indzine in the summer of 2007. He is originally from North Devon and this is where he began his career developing websites. He studied for two years doing a BTEC National Diploma in Information Technology at North Devon College. After passing his course with a Merit he knew that this would be the career for him.
Aged 19, Matt got a job in the south west working for the largest internet company in the area. Without any on-the-job programming experience Matt had to learn quickly and at the end of his first year he received an award for ‘Most Improved Programmer’. A few years later he received the ‘Best Programmer’ award and then became a Developer using ASP and building Content Management Systems. During his time there he worked for high profile clients including AMREF (African Medical Research Foundation), ActionAid and the Royal College of Anathestics. After six years Matt decided to have a career break and travelled round the world to gain more life experiences.
Since joining InDzine Matt has furthered his knowledge in ASP, VBScript and CSS. He has produced a variety of websites ranging from HTML tabled websites such as www.venture.co.uk, and CSS style flat websites such as www.davidwatsonphotography.co.uk. He has also created e-Commerce websites including www.felinedesigns.co.uk, and fully content managed sites including www.telegesis.com.
Matt’s talents don’t stop at website developing as he is also InDzine’s email expert and manages the building and sending of InDzine’s emails. He is able to create emails that will work in many different email packages and advise on best practice.
Matt is always keen to learn more and looks for new ways to solve problems. His organisation skills and ability to manage his own time to ensure client deadlines are always met means he is a valuable member of the InDzine team.
